“An Accidental Find Leads to a Monumental Discovery: God’s Providence in the Return of the Bradford Journal”

Presented by: Scott Miller

“We almost take it for granted that we’ve always had our primary resource that tells of our Pilgrim History, “Of Plimoth Plantation”, by Governor William Bradford. In fact, the Bradford Journal was actually “lost” for over 80 years. As it turned out, it was spirited away from America’s shores to England sometime during the Revolutionary War. This is the story of God’s Providential Hand in the re-discovery of this great work and the odyssey it went through to finally be returned home over 120 years after being “lost”. It was returned to our shores in 1897 in what has been called a “Scriptural Event” by the recently published documentary, “The Pilgrims”, on PBS. “An Accidental Find Leads to a Monumental Discovery”, takes us through the truly miraculous story of how the Bradford Journal survived a fire, wars, and being lost to history, finally to be returned to its rightful place in the Massachusetts Statehouse in Boston.”
